32 bit plugin running on 64 bit demo map

would a 32 bit plugin run on a 64 bit demo map? I'm running this scenario and it doesn't appear to work.

I ran into a similar but opposite situation.
A plugin built under a 64-bit system in the type of 'Any CPU' (default setting in VS2010) works abnormally on a DemoMap.exe built under a pure 32-bit system.
Switching the plugin's building type to 'x86' from 'Any CPU' solves the problem.

It depends. All libraries (core, default plugins, demomap) shipped with DotSpatail are built in AnyCPU and works fine on both x86 and x64.
But if you are writing your own plugin and compile it in x86 it may not work at x64 and vice versa.

I changed the build to specifically target x86 for all the projects and that seems to resolve the issue. I didn't do any experimenting with different combinations of 32 bit and 64 bit plugins.
