Add indication of selection to status bar

This is a feature request from HydroDesktop (http://hydrodesktop.codeplex.com/workitem/8415)
 
Add an indication of how many features are selected to the status bar. If some features are selected, then the status bar message should show Layer: 'N features selected'. where layer is the currently active layer and where N is the number of selected features.

I recommend this code use the "LayerManager" class to determine what layer is selected. This class is presently used in http://dotspatialapp.codeplex.com/
