Convert UTM-15 maps to JPEG2000

Jan 17, 2013 at 4:09 PM

We have JPEG2000 orthophoto data with UTM-15 projection. However we want them with WGS-84 projection when loading with Dotspatial. We want to convert maps' projection at design time. Does anybody know how to do this, a sample would be very gladful.

In my experience, when a project involves a large raster, we try to choose the grid's native projection for the map so there is no need to project/distort the raster. I am not aware of any way to reproject rasters in DotSpatial (there is a Reproject method, but it does not really reproject, just modifies some affine parameters) or any way to save as JPEG2000.

When I needed to reproject a raster, I wrote my own method on top of DotSpatial.

For anyone who wants it, look for the Resample method in:

https://d4em.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/D4EM.Geo/SpatialOperations.vb

It takes a raster and makes a new one based on it that matches the projection, extent and resolution of another raster.

It would be nice for a version of this method to be in DotSpatial so more people could use it.

I could not see a Resample method in the file.
