how to view attribute tables in a separated form

Sep 10, 2012 at 7:54 AM

Hi List,

I am working on tutorial 2, where I can view attributes of a shape file in datagridview (c#) added to the same form in which map control is added. This is working fine.

Now I want to add this attributes (datagridview) in another form (lets say form 2), but I do not know how to make these two forms working together. I mean once I select an attribute in form2, I can see the polygon of my shape file is selected in form1. Is there an extension to do this? Do I have to do something really clever to make this work?

Thanks for reading this and potentially replying this.

regards,

Arvin

You will have to modify the selection of the correct layer.

You can see an advanced example of this at https://dotspatialapp.codeplex.com/ in the DotSpatial.Plugins.AttributeDataExplorer project.

Could you please clearly explain what I should be looking for? I could not find any advanced example in the link you sent. I spent almost 6 hours without finding anything useful.

thanks,

Arvin
