When I try to load Dotsptial.Controls.dll, the following error is pop up.

There was an error loading types from assembly 'C:\DotSpatialTest\bin\DotSpatial.Controls.dll‘

’Could not load file or assembly 'DotSpatial.Symbology, Version=1.0.0.0.34693, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken

=6178c08da7998387' or one of its dependencies.

The system cannot find the file specified.'

What does this error mean? Any one can give a solution to this problem? Thanks a lot in advance.

Add a reference to "DotSpatial.Symbology.dll" in your project.

Thanks Taber. I have added a reference to DotSpatial.Symbology.dll in my project, the same error still exists when trying to load "DotSpatial.Controls.dll".  Is there anyone knowing why?

Have you downloaded the latest archive? Are you sure all your DLLs are from same compilation? Are you using framework 4?

Thanks everyone, the problem is solved.

I put all dlls in the bin directory, and change Target Framework from ".NET Framework Client Profile" to ".NET Framework" in VS2010, and then it works.

DotSpatial controls can be loaded and shown on the Toolbox panel. I don't know why.

Another question: Can MapWindow 6 coexist with DotSpatial? I installed both VS2008 and VS2010 on XP SP3.
